Yale Climate Connections Features EcoBlock’s Neighborhood-Scale Approach

Yale Climate Connections recently featured EcoBlock in a radio segment highlighting the project’s neighborhood-scale approach to decarbonization.

The segment focuses on the coordinated retrofit of 15 homes in Oakland, emphasizing how bulk purchasing and clustered construction reduced costs for solar installations, heat pumps, and roofing.

The coverage also underscores the social benefits of the approach. By collectively organizing improvements, residents had more opportunities to connect with one another, suggesting that block-scale climate action can strengthen community relationships alongside reducing emissions.
